Mark Whiteford, M.D., FACS, FASCRS

​Dr. Whiteford graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and went on to complete his general surgery internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Whiteford completed his fellowship
in colon and rectal surgery at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He currently practices at the Oregon Clinic – Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery (GMIS), and has brought a number of honors and awards to the hospital. Dr. Whiteford was the recipient of the Society of the Alimentary Tract Traveling Fellowship in Surgical Endoscopy in 2007 and was also featured in Marquis Who’s
Who in America in 2010. Dr. Whiteford also serves as an Affiliate Professor of Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
 
Dr. Whiteford is an innovator and expert in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM, TAMIS). He is a sought-after lecturer who has received
