Carl J. Brown, M.D., M.Sc., FRCSC
Dr. Carl J. Brown is a colorectal surgeon and the current Head of the Division of General Surgery at St. Paul’s Hospital. He is also the Chair of the Section of Colorectal Surgery at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Dr. Brown attended medical school at McMaster University and went on to complete his general surgery training at the University of Calgary. During his fellowship, Dr. Brown earned his master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the University of Toronto. In 2006, he was recruited to St. Paul’s Hospital and UBC. Dr. Brown has published several studies on colorectal cancer surgery, the ileal pouch procedure, and surgery for Crohn’s disease. He has also taught courses in laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and transanal endoscopic microsurgery. |
